Chris Keenan for The New Craftsmen, Potter
“Over the course of my apprenticeship I was taught to make and also to look – an education of both the hand and the eye.”
Chris developed his skills as a potter under an apprenticeship with Edmund de Waal in 1995, having spent the previous decade as an actor. For the last 15 years Chris has developed a celebrated and recognised aesthetic, producing handthrown tableware using Limoges porcelain with a select palette of glazes. Chris pursues a clarity of line in his work, focusing on domestic pieces which balance beauty and function. Chris currently has a dinnerware range on display in the industrial ceramics collection at the V&A, and has been exhibited widely in the UK and internationally.
