Accordion Man by Aude Van Ryn belongs to a new set of sculptures which build upon Aude’s fascination with African art, particularly from West Africa, and the influence this had on 20th century artists. Each piece has been deliberately sculpted from terracotta and decorated with a select few glazes to achieve an animated, graphic effect.
Dimensions: Height: 17cm, Length: 6cm, Width: 5cm
Care Instructions: Wipe with cloth
This piece draws influence from the drawings and designs Aude discovered while travelling through the Dogon country in Mali, where masks, sculptures and artefacts are an essential part of village life.
