Blackened Shake Cabinet

Sebastian Cox
Made exclusively for The New Craftsmen, this piece has been constructed from individually made shakes – a shingle commonly used in Japan as architectural cladding. These delicately blackened pieces have been cleft via the ancient art of splitting wood along its grain, then assembled on the door frames to create a fantastic texture.
