Inspired by a residency at the Bothy Project, these cushions bring to life images from Emily Watts' time living in the Cairngorms in Scotland. Contrasting monolithic natural forms, with simplified design, each piece is a reflection on seclusion and the desire to cuddle up and hide away. The 'Spruce Tips' cushion has been created using intricately knitted fabrics imbued with a strong sense of British identity; rooted to culture, process and place. This design was inspired by Emily's time spent in the off-grid Bothy. Whilst there she experienced amazing snow storms which dramatically changed the environment, dramatically framing the natural forms. This vista has been translated into a felted wool cushion, with polyurethane details contrasting against natural British wool.
