Inspired by the simplicity of old industrial enamelled metal lights, basket maker Annemarie O’Sullivan set out to create a neat and elegant form from the willow she grows and harvests on her own land. This fine, white willow compliments the light’s utilitarian style perfectly. The light comes complete with a speciality bulb and flex.

PROCESS

Hand woven around a central ring, the inner part is made using a secure technique known as pairing. The body of the piece is made using a particularly complicated weaving technique called French Rand, and it has a beautifully crafted, crammed rod border. The final piece is a perfectly balanced and harmonious structure made from home-grown stripped white willow.
