Alexander White‘s Plié Collection is a new range of playful, process-led furniture crafted from patinated Bronze and British Elm. The characterful design named Plié, (a French word to describe its folded and bent style) draws on the material structure and capabilities of the tubular frame, emphasising the folds, pinches and angles, taking your eye on a looping journey of richly worked metal. PROCESS

By bronzing the steel and finishing it in a rich hand-applied patina, Alexander intends to elevate this collection into the realm of sculpture, pushing boundaries and celebrating his search for perfection using challenging new techniques (including bending and crafting steel tube). Alexander also brings real bronze into the solid Elm table top by filling natural holes and knots with a glinting powdered bronze and resin.
