This dynamic piece reflects Adam's innovative approach to ceramics; developing new techniques to produce unique, functional pieces which stand the test of time. Inspired by a study of Jupiter's largest moon, Ganymede, this table lamp comes to life when illuminated.

The lamps are coiled and then finished on the wheel. The piece is then glazed onto the base clay, and the bottom half coated in slip. A spiral pattern is created by covering the lamp in a very thick slip, and then shaping the surface with a tool as the wheel slowly rotates.
The Maker Adam Ross Ceramicist - London

Adam Ross is a ceramicist using pottery as a means of sculptural exploration. Driven to create pieces with their own personality, Adam has developed innovative techniques to produce his tableware and artworks, from slicing pieces with wire to unexpected glaze applications. Having trained in ceramics from an early age, Adam went on to study ceramics at the Glasgow School of Art. He currently runs his own practice, and is also studio manager at the Kiln Rooms, London – an open access pottery studio.
