Anne-Marie developed this foraging basket while researching basket making traditions. It takes a solid day to prepare, cleave and steam the willow and then a second day to weave the bag. The design includes a handle to hang on a branch, and feet to stand on the ground and keep the contents of the basket off the ground.
Dimensions: Width 33cm, Height 53cm, Depth 15.5cm.
Care Instructions: The piece should be kept dry, it can be washed with warm water then dried thoroughly and quickly.
When I made a willow basket, that very first evening ,I went to bed and was dreaming of the willow, moving in arches and tight turns. It reminded me of how I feel when I swim, which is the same kind of movement. It's a really lovely fluid feeling, one I experience deep in my body.
