Hakeme Breakfast Set for Two
Inspired by the Mingei philosophy of finding beauty in everyday objects, this Hakeme Breakfast Set for Two by ceramicist Matthew Foster, is exclusive to The New Craftsmen.
This breakfast set forms part of a functional series of pieces, which draw upon the Leach legacy, as well as the vernacular styles and forms of medieval pottery. Made up of two side plates, two high bowls and two mugs, Matthew aims to showcase the making process in each stoneware set, rather than obscure it. Through the use of dolomite glaze and the gestural brushwork of the Hakeme technique, Matthew aims to infuse his work with the spirit of the past, resulting in pieces of enduring value. The organic nature of painting results in every individual piece being unique. This set is also available in bespoke combinations, please enquire for further details.
