Each character is colourful and adventurous, with a personality all their own.
Heavily inspired by the likes of Picasso and Hylton Nel, Alex hand-makes every piece using white earthenware, cast in small batches. The work is then hand-painted and decorated using underglaze paints, after which a transparent glaze is applied. Often reflecting themes found in nature, Alex depicts scenes of animals and people at play in the world.
Alex has recently collaborated with clients such as Anthropologie, the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art and the Hepworth Gallery, Wakefield. She graduated from Leeds College of Art in 2012.
