Catarina Riccabona is a hand weaver who works with linen, hemp, wool and alpaca. She designs and makes a range of cushions, scarves and throws and other soft furnishings for the home.
Catarina’s interest in textiles was sparked after visiting the beautiful old George Wood looms at Central Saint Martins. She subsequently graduated with a BA in Textile Design from CSM in 2007. She has gone on to develop an interest in sustainable living, creating responsible and environmentally friendly rules to guide her weaving practice.
Drawing inspiration from tribal textiles, vintage grain sacks and linen towels, each of Catarina’s pieces is hand woven on a traditional loom and produced from start to finish in her studio in south east London.
