Isle of Auskerry
Isle of Auskerry is a family run business conceived by Simon Brogan and his wife Teresa, after they moved to the remote island in Orkney almost fourty years ago in a bid to swap the life of a commuter with making a living from the local wild sheep – the only industry possible on the isolated island terrain.
They are now dedicated to the survival of the rare North Ronaldsay sheep, of which there are only three flocks left in Orkney. Read More
The North Ronaldsay sheep are semi-feral, graze on the beach and survive through foraging for seaweed.
The family have been perfecting the art of curing sheepskins by hand over the last thirty years and each Isle of Auskerry sheepskin they produce is entirely unique in its colour & markings.
