She believes that fabric is akin to jewellery in the way it frames and enhances form, reflecting light and capturing movement. Her research interests include ancient weaving techniques such as Lampas and Taqueté, alongside the silk weaving traditions of Lyon.
Upon graduating from Camberwell School of Art, Jane moved to Paris to continue studying textiles. She stayed on to teach, then worked in the city for 26 years before returning to set up her studio in north London.
Jane combines her design work with her role as specialist technician at the Royal College of Art.
