Central to Joe’s practice is his potter’s wheel, which he uses to create clean, minimal ceramic pieces. These works often include secondary materials, such as cork, wood and textiles. Such tactile engagement has inspired Joe to seek out cross-disciplinary relationships, enabling him to perfect old and new materials and processes.
In recent years, Joe won Best New Designer at New Designers, and was shortlisted for the Perrier-Jouet Art Salon Prize. Joe studied 3D Design at Manchester Metropolitan University.
