Her travels have enabled her to learn innovative, foreign techniques – many of which had previously not been practiced in Britain.
Sally has been a member of the Basket Makers Association for over forty years and she has taught basket making extensively in the UK, Europe and the US. In 1991 she co-authored ‘The Complete Book of Basketry Techniques’, which is currently in its fifth edition and has been translated into French. Sally describes herself as a traditional basket maker as her pieces are designed and made for function. She now works out of a studio at her home in Cheltenham.
