Stuart lifts his pieces from the wheel whilst they are wet, meaning each pieces is left with an individual movement, making them completely unique. Each piece is made on a set of principles, a certain weight of clay, a common aesthetic and a given scale.
Inspired by ‘The Intimacy of Functional Objects’, Stuart developed his strong style during his Masters at the RCA. His range is driven by feel and tactility - making the pieces a pleasure to use as they offer themselves up to being handled.
