This new range of decorative wall panels mark an exciting departure for weaver Catarina Riccabona, who was inspired by the work of Anni Albers to demonstrate weaving as an art form, not confined to a domestic craft. Drawing influence from Albers’ meticulous practice and focus on the natural weave structure, Catarina worked with a more refined colour palette to emphasise the construction of the fabric.

Hand-weaving is quite a structured activity. There are different processes required before you start to weave. This set up gives me structure, a slow and considered approach. At the weaving stage I tend to work quite spontaneously and am often inspired by the materials I work with. I love the tactile quality.
