Cameron Short

Cameron Short is a block printer producing handmade cushions and art prints from a technology-free 1890s Georgian shepherd’s hut in rural Dorset. Cameron represents a ‘new movement’ of makers who reject the distractions of modern life, are rooted in sustainability and a connection to the land. Cameron’s work is heavily inspired by the English countryside, rural life and the folklore of the natural world. Cameron Short honed his skills as a hand-block printer through training with celebrated artist Marthe Armitage.

Maker's Quote

As a child growing up on a small Hampshire farm, I have vivid memories of scarecrows standing in fields, charcoal burners and coppice workers toiling in the woods, Romanies and bearded characters in tatty coats wandering the lanes. My designs are more than just arbitrary patterns – I tell stories through them.
