Metameric Stack I
Metameric Stack I by Irish glass blower Edmond Byrne, exclusive to The New Craftsmen. As an extension of the Metameric series, Edmond uses the totem construction as a device to juxtapose colours and textures. The series examines the metameric phenomenon; when two individual colours appear indistinguishable to the human eye, their difference is revealed with a change in ambient light. The vertical construction allows Edmond to play with balance, weight and light to create an aura and presence in the work that surpasses the individual components. This piece is comprised of three individual vessels to be stacked in place.
