Meza Table

SASA Works
£11,200
Meza Table is contemporary piece designed and made by workshop and architectural practice, SASA Works. With the intention to create a piece that can be celebrated and cherished through the generations, it is made from the finest quality European oak and echoes the wonderful kitchen table at Hampton Court imbued with centuries of use and narrative.

Like the tree within the forest from which this table was made, the Meza Table has been designed to stand with grace and celebrated for years within the heart of the home as the site of togetherness and conviviality. Inspired by the kitchen table at Hampton Court, the piece combines elegance and functionality, with a robustness to withstand use and home-life. In parallel to its form are the elements of detail and care that make this piece distinct - the sliding dovetail tapered legs, the antique brass fixings, and the positioning of the hand-selected wood to allow for the beautiful detail of grain to flow throughout the piece. The sustainably harvested oak wood has been finished with natural oil and will become more beautiful with the patina of use and time.
Material: Sustainably harvested European oak, antique brass fixings and finished with a natural oil which is food safe.

Process

The table has been individually hand-crafted in SASA Works’ London workshop using a blend of traditional and contemporary carpentry and joinery techniques. Each section of wood has been hand selected and positioned to celebrate and bring fluidity to the flow of the grain throughout the piece. The table also is detailed and jointed with unique brass fixings and handmade oak pegs.
