Munro Cushion (Square)

The Good Shepherd
Munro Wool Cushion by The Good Shepherd is a large Fawn square cushion with an even, linear pattern. The cushion is crafted from pure British Wool, left un-dyed to showcase the natural colours, sourced entirely from the Shetland Islands. Combining Shetland traditions with a modern aesthetic, each cushion from this richly textured collection is named after a peak in the Scottish Highlands.

Material: Shetland Wool, feather filling
cm: Width 65cm, Height 65cm
inches: Width 25.6in, Height 25.6in

Using undyed yarns sourced from Shetland, this cushion is embellished with an even, linear pattern, achieved by holding multiple threads at the same time and weaving to build up the pattern. Emily first knits the fabric on a hand knitting machine, before felting, steaming and cutting the cushions, then finally decorates each cushion with hand stitching. Each piece of fabric is scaled specifically for each cushion.
The Maker The Good Shepherd Knitter - South East England

The Good Shepherd is a knitwear company founded in 2013 by RCA graduate Emily Watts. Specialising in hand knitted textiles, the brand creates intricately knitted cushions and throws imbued with a strong sense of British identity, rooted to culture, process and place. The Good Shepherd draws inspiration from the exposed, windswept landscape of the Shetland Islands, following a research trip to Shetland’s northernmost isles where much of Emily’s yarn is sourced.
