This piece is part of a series of work inspired by daily life on the Orkney islands. The sheep are based on those of North Ronaldsay, who are located on the northernmost part of the island and rely solely on a seaweed diet. Early and mid-century Staffordshire pottery influences much of Alex’s work and every ornament is hand-built, giving each character a unique personality.
