Hand Blown Pinch Pot (Saddle) by glass artist Michael Ruh is a glass herb or seasoning dish, bearing the maker's mark.

A small coloured glass pinch pot, inspired by Italian 'tazza', a shallow dish used as serveware. While simple in shape, the process of blowing each piece is complex and has taken extensive experimentation from Michael to perfect. Each pot is finished with an intentionally uneven rim – a reminder of the organic.

Process

Making handblown glass is a long, absorbing process whereby molten glass is gradually rolled and manipulated into shape. While Michael’s pieces may seem simple, each object is a technical challenge requiring precise timing, perpetual movement and teamwork.
