About GMB Leather
GMB Leather is ran by Godfrey Morris, a leather specialist with The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery – a ceremonial unit of the British Army, quartered at Woolwich. A mounted unit, all of its soldiers are trained to care for and drive teams of six horses. Today, each horse pulls a First World War era 13-pounder field gun for fire salutes on state occasions.
The unit houses several leather saddlers, (led by Godfrey) who each take 4-5 years to specialise in the skill of military saddlery.
