Ricasso Mirror in Cognac Loop I (Large) by embroidery and textile artist Aimee Betts, boasts a decorative frame which draws inspiration from centuries old loop and coil basketry techniques. This collection of mirrors explores the geometric possibilities and challenges faced when working with and applying decorative details to circular structures. Aimee applies flat and round leather cords to the tubular forms, using the leather as 'string' to help create a continuous flow. Contrasting with the brass frame underneath, this brocade work will draw the eye and create a focal point in any interior.
