Inspired by the migration of birds, this ring is made from heavy sterling silver. The birds on the band of the design are created from 24-carat yellow gold plating while the chiseled river on the face is crafted from blue rhodium. Due to the hand-plating process, variation in the tone and colour may occur.

Castro engraves each ring by hand, using materials including silver, blue rhodium and gold plating. He also makes many of his own engraving tools and is inspired by European and Japanese techniques.
Castro Smith is a jewellery designer based in east London, who is known for his intricately detailed, engraved rings that are inspired by history, myths and biology. Having initially trained as a painter and printmaker, Castro went on to study with London engraving firm RH Wilkins as part of the Goldsmiths’ Company’s apprenticeship scheme. He now works from a studio in Sarabande, the east London studio complex founded by the late Alexander McQueen.
