PARTNER: Burberry
PROJECT: Remaking Thomas’s Cafe – Burberry Flagship Store, Regent Street, London
DATE: November 2016
Having successfully collaborated with Burberry on Makers House, The New Craftsmen delighted in transforming their two-storey Thomas’s Café. Set at the heart of their flagship Regent Street store, the Café remains a permanent manifestation of this enduring partnership.
Extending the essence and spirit of Makers House, the space was entirely refurbished in under four weeks, adding soul and warmth to the existing space through furniture, paint work, finishes, crafted details and exclusive product.
Blending both hospitality and retail, the space was defined to deliver different layers of experience and connectivity to the brand. Materiality, tone and texture act as subtle signifiers - uniting the vibrant Café on the ground floor with the private hire ‘sanctum’, a space for exclusive events and experiences.

The Show
To activate the Café in the run up to Christmas, we curated a programme of live making and workshops - from block printing with Louisa Loakes to monogramming with Royal School of Needlework, enabling customers to buy unique gifts and have them personalised on site.
Partnering with Burberry again has been an absolute pleasure. We have loved working with a great British heritage brand who share our appreciation for craftsmanship.
