Decorex 2016
Project Details
PARTNER: House & Garden magazine
PROJECT: VIP Lounge at Decorex 2015
DATE: September 2015
For Decorex 2015, we transformed the House & Garden VIP Lounge into an immersive experience of British craftsmanship. Pursuing the concept of an Anthology of British Craft, we transformed the VIP Lounge into a creative platform for the skills, materials and processes that make up craft across the British Isles – offering immersive experiences that explored different aspects of craftsmanship in thought provoking ways, from texture and pattern to form and finish.
Highlights included: a new day bed design from William Waterhouse with hand-block printed fabrics from Louisa Loakes; Bowls of Britain – a curated collection of 18 bowls presenting an anthology of craft and process; Baskets of the British Isles co-curated by master basket maker Hilary Burns, and lighting from hand-weaver Catarina Riccabona and potter Akiko Hirai, which marked the soft launch of our new Lighting Design Service in collaboration with design consultant Claire Norcross.

This space offered visitors the opportunity to purchase display pieces, or sit down and enjoy a one-to-one consultation to explore the bespoke commissioning process.
Anyone with a passion for decorative and applied arts will be in craft heaven here.
