The Armitage Lamp with Fern Shade in Sand
Joe & Marthe Armitage
Introducing the Armitage Lamp with Fern Shade in Sand by Joe and Marthe Armitage. Based on an original design created in 1952 by the architect Edward Armitage, this lamp encapsulates decades of family history and creative heritage. The original lamp was devised during Marthe’s time living in India with her late husband (Joe’s Grandfather). Edward would observe people making and selling furniture in the local bazaar and pretty soon, a whole range of personal items had been specially created to furnish their home. The contemporary version of this lamp is as true to the original as possible, but it's made using modern tools in London and furnished with a unique, block-printed lampshade that Marthe has designed exclusively for The New Craftsmen.
