The Young Badger Platter
Jacqueline Leighton Boyce
The Young Badger Platter by Jacquline Leighton Boyce forms part of a recent body of work inspired by the growth and reproduction of life in English meadows, woodlands and hedgerows during the early summer. This eye-catching platter with a scalloped rim reflects the wild flora which bursts forth and jostles for space in the English countryside. The piece is formed from red terracotta clay, handbuilt with the use of a press mould, and illustrated with a small badger peeking out from the dense foliage – a bucolic nighttime scene.
