Tickseed Cushion in Rust Orange

Rosemary Milner
Tickseed Cushion in Rust Orange is part of the Garden collection by artist and designer Rosemary Milner. She first became acquainted with the tickseed garden plant while on a natural dyers course and was enchanted by the striking colouring of its petals and its delicacy. Tickseed grows easily in gardens and has many uses after it finishes flowering. Rosemary was inspired by the spectrum of orange and brown hues to use a rusty linen as the background for this beautiful plant.

The cushion is made by screen printing multiple layers of colour onto heavy weight linen. Rosemary then adds small amounts of hand embroidery to define the leaves and add texture and interest.
