Charred Water Vessel with Mending by woodworking duo Ash & Plumb is part of a collection which references ancient, often neolithic archeological forms discovered around Britain & Europe, translated into a contemporary visual language that conjures a sense of unexpected familiarity.

Each form is turned from green Oak and allowed to air dry over several weeks, as the wood dries the natural tensions within the tree cause the forms to warp and often crack naturally before patination, oiling and stitching to highlight the natural beauty of the imperfections. This vessel has been treated with iron oxide and lime before finishing with a mixture of linseed oil and beeswax then burnished to a subtle sheen.
