Brodgar Lounge Chair (Without Drawer)
The Brodgar Lounge Chair (without drawer) is the product of a collaboration between The New Craftsmen, Dalston based furniture maker Gareth Neal, and traditional Orkney chair maker Kevin Gauld. Gareth travelled back to Orkney in Scotland to develop the original Brodgar Chair design with Kevin, resulting in a contemporary twist on this iconic piece of British furniture. It can be made with or without the traditional drawer that is fitted underneath.
The Brodgar Lounge Chair develops upon the original Brodgar Chair form, evolving and cross-breeding the aesthetic and material found within in the Orkney chair form and that of a comb back Windsor armchair dating from 1844.
