Aude Van Ryn
Eclipse by London-based ceramicist and illustrator Aude Van Ryn. This decorative terracotta sculpture belongs to a set of one-off works made exclusively for The New Craftsmen. Featuring three ascending crescent moons shapes reminiscent of the stages before a total eclipse, Aude’s intriguing totem, which she refers to as ‘clay collage’, draws inspiration from a variety of sources including ethnographic photography, architecture and graphic design. The human figure is a recurring theme throughout Aude’s work, whether totally abstract or more figurative – each piece in this collection strikes a playful pose.
