Originally inspired by the illustration ‘Brambles Rowan and Blue Hare’ by Michael Glover, this ring is made from sterling silver and rose gold plating, while the hare running through the leaves in the moonlight is hand-engraved in black rhodium. Due to the hand-plating process, variation in the tone and colour may occur.

Castro engraves each ring by hand, using materials including silver, black rhodium and gold plating. He also makes many of his own engraving tools and is inspired by European and Japanese techniques.
Castro Smith is a jewellery designer based in east London, who is known for his intricately detailed, engraved rings that are inspired by history, myths and biology. Having initially trained as a painter and printmaker, Castro went on to study with London engraving firm RH Wilkins as part of the Goldsmiths’ Company’s apprenticeship scheme. He now works from a studio in Sarabande, the east London studio complex founded by the late Alexander McQueen.
