This collection reflects on the traditions of rural craft, inspired by farmers smocks and embroidered samplers seen at the Museum of Rural Life in Reading. Crafted from deconstructed antique linen sheets, the cushions are traditionally woven on a narrow loom and joined in the middle with a seam, then hand stitched with a loop detail using wool thread, and finished with dorset buttons.
The border pleats for these cushions have been meticulously sewn along the grain of the fabric using a sewing machine and industrial steam iron, then patchworked together.
