Shino Serving Bowl I
Shino Serving Bowl I by ceramics artist Matthew Foster, draws inspiration from Africa, South America and ancient Aztec designs. Covered in a glossy shino glaze on the interior and dolomite gloss on the exterior. The shino glaze originated in 16th century Japan and has been purposefully recreated here to enhance the bowl’s unique motif. The motif is applied using a roller tool notched with a pattern of Matthew’s own design.
