The Stag Beetle & the Hedge Sparrow Vessel
Jacqueline Leighton Boyce
The Stag Beetle & the Hedge Sparrow Vessel by Jacquline Leighton Boyce forms part of a recent body of work inspired by the growth and reproduction of life in English meadows, woodlands and hedgerows during the early summer. This irregular and eye-catching vessel reflects the wild flora which bursts forth and jostles for space in the English countryside. The piece is formed from red terracotta clay, handbuilt and illustrated with dense foliage that you might spot in hedgerows throughout the UK, which subsequently play host to a myriad of insects and fauna.
